Over the past couple of days I have been gluing battens to the rear of the cupboard fascia and the results can be seen in today’s first photograph. The piece of hardwood ply that can be seen in the upper section is a template which has hopefully ensured that the holes in the panel will be identical in size as well as being square and correctly spaced.

With the template removed the panel was drilled with a clearance drill for the profiling router bit and then the holes are routed out flush with the battens on the rear.

After a little fettling with a sharp chisel to square up the round corners and any excess adhesive, the panel was tacked and glued into the van.
