. I ended up flying my Brighton Kite Flyers down on Devils Dyke, instead I drove the short distance to Grafham Water, to literally join the Great Ouse Kite Flyers.
Having attended GOKF workshops and fly-ins it just seemed churlish not to actually join the club, so I dipped in my pocket and wrote my first and possibly only cheque of the year.
For a while it looked like there would be only three of us but the numbers were swelled and we peaked at six kites in the air, which was quite good going given the weather: nearly constant ice cold drizzle, low to no wind, and poor visibilityMylar Urban Ninja partly because the wind was so low and partly because it sheds water rather than absorbing it. Still despite the conditions it was good to get out and blow the cobwebs away.
