As regular readers will be aware, I monitor UK legislation as part of my job and keep an eye out for Statutory Instruments, Acts and amendments there to that affect us kite flyers here in the UK. Well yesterday whilst monitoring the OPSI Statutory Instrument RSS feed I noted that an amendment to “The Rules of the Air” regulations was passed on 10th March 2008 and will come into force on the 1st April 2008. Whilst this amendment does not affect us kite flyers directly it is an amendment to the core legislation and thus needs citing as part of that legislation.

Meantime the whole household is under the weather with recurring coughs, colds and chest and ear infections, which have left us all feeling up to doing little more than mooching in front of the TV or reading, though I did manage to get enough energy up to cut the fabric for a Double Para Sled over weekend. The plan was to finish it in time for the Brenzett Easter Kite Festival, however given the current weather forecasts it is unlikely that any flying will take place, and I’m just not in the mood to sew. Still with only 4-5 hours work still to do there is plenty of time to get the kite finished for the weekend. I just need to draw up a set of ‘Tux Eyes’ to be appliquéd in one corner
